What is your child's favorite relaxing activity? Lego, Star Wars, music, drawing, rocking chair, swing, or trampoline? Put pictures or photos of these on a card. These can be used to remind a child who is starting to get anxious that these are activities that can be chosen as calming choices. They can be chosen first, prior to doing a 'job' or 'task' that must be done. That way the child has the idea and picture of what comes next in his/her schedule.

These can be photographed and made smaller, printed out, laminated and magnetized or velcroed onto the child's schedule strip. Or, they can be stuck onto a visual timer, so that the child can also see how much time he/she has for this activity.
